Our Story!

At the City Office, we are proud of our company's history and the strides we have made in the real estate industry. We feel that our position as the oldest locally-owned brokerage firm in Cincinnati stands as a testimonial to our dedicated service and heightened communication. Comey & Shepherd has its roots in the downtown landscape. Harold Comey founded the firm in 1946 as a downtown commercial brokerage. In those early years, the company managed a host of downtown properties, including the Carew Tower.

Through the years, the company has remained active in a variety of development projects downtown, in addition to expansion into a variety of markets throughout suburban Cincinnati. Today Comey & Shepherd boasts locations in many of the neighborhoods of the area, and serves ALL residents from North to South, East to West. The company serves as an industry leader, with the area?s highest average sales price and highest productivity per agent in any multi-office firm. Additionally, the company is proud to rank in the Top 150 firms in the country in terms of annual volume of business. Clearly these accomplishments help us stand apart from others with our superior level of professionalism and service.

The ideals of Comey & Shepherd are truly evidenced with the opening of the City Office. Michael Sweeney's involvement in many downtown activities and involvements led him to dedicating his time and energies into formulating a team of agents to serve Cincinnati from a centralized location. Many of those who came to work with him arrived from suburban offices, bringing with them a wealth of information of others areas. Additionally, the office boasts a number of developers and investors who understand the many obstacles and legislation that accompany these types of transactions.

Although the City Office is diverse in its backgrounds, a common thread runs through the mindsets of many of its real estate specialists. A commitment to service and the many communities in which we conduct business remains forefront in our minds as we conduct business each day.
